Chevrolet Repair: Check Engine Light Again!!!, chevy monte carlo, instrument cluster

Question
My check engine light has been coming on since my car was new.  It's a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo.  I've had it diagnosed and fixed each time.  It keeps coming on and there's nothing wrong with the car.  How can I disconnect this light.  It's still on and the last trip to the shop revealed nothing.  Is there a fuse that can be removed or a way to override the light?

Answer
well unfortunately there is no fuse for the dam things. I wish there was too lol. if you insist on "killing" the light you have 3 options. put black tape over it lol. You could pull the instrument cluster out and pull the bulb out. or, if you are brave, you can cut the wire from the ecm. I DON'T RECOMMEND CUTTING THE WIRE unless you are very very sure witch one it is. It is pin #5 (brownwhite wire)on the c2 connector. thats all i can tell like this as trying to describe the whole procedure involves more typing that my hunt-pecking will allow. but i suggest you do one of the first two ideas. good luck to ya.
