Chevrolet Repair: Key Problems, saturn sl1, door locks

Question
I have a 2001 Saturn SL1. I have had a problem where I put my key in the ignition and it won't turn. I lock up the steering wheel and I still have to jiggle and shake the steering to get the key to turn to turn on the car. I have no problem turning off and pulling out the key, just turning the key to start the car. What do you think the problem could be because its getting worse and I dont want to be stranded.

Hello Megan,
First, if you haven't already tried it, try a different, prefferably new, key.
If that doesn't do it, spray inside where the key goes with some spray lube or graphite, but I suspect you may need a new lock tumbler.
You can get them re-keyed to work on the orriginal key, so you don't need to replace the door locks, or carry two keys.
