Chevrolet Repair: malibu, stering wheel, lock cylinder

my key wont turn the ingtion switch to my 1998 malibu[4 cylinder] the stering wheel still turns,how do i take it out?

Hi Costella, This is a hard job because you have to turn the ignition to the start position to remove the lock cylinder from the switch. When  they don't turn you need to drill out the cylinder to get it to release from the housing. Now you can replace the ignition lock cylinder and relearn the theft system.
