Chevrolet Repair: 98 S10 4x4 4.3 ZR2 air conditioning, fuse block, pressure switch

The compressor will not engage, the fuses are OK and relays also. I did jump the low pressure switch and it still will not engage. I took the under hood fuse block apart and flipped it over to see if there was continuity in the green wire to the compressor and there was. Then I grounded the green wire with the white tracer next to it and the compressor took off. What is wrong? Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, This sounds to me like the system is low on freon. When you jump the low pressure switch did you leave it jumped for a minute, it takes a while before the pcm turns the compressor on. I would try this again and also check the charge in the system.
