Chevrolet Repair: throttle position sensor- voltage is low, throttle position sensor, voltage signal


Question
throttle position sensor- voltage is low is what a code reader is tellin me but i found somewhere if u adjust it and turn it clock wise it will turn up the voltage well i tried both ways and it didnt seem to make a difference i had just replaced the sensor the sensor that was on there was not adjustable but the new one is could it be the wrong sensor? or wut is goin on???

Hello Robert,
You probably have the correct one.
Measure the voltage at the connector. There should be 5 volts with the key on at one of the pins. That is the refference voltage.
Then, as the gas pedal is moved, part of that refference voltage will be sent back to the ecm as the throttle position signal.
If the connector is loose, or the wire chewed in two by a mouse, no voltage signal will get to the ecm.
