Chevrolet Repair: 96 cavalier wiring, instrument lighting, time theft

Question
I have a 96 Chevy cavalier, 2.2 base model in my shop right now.  The problems are:

-the instrument lighting is only half as bright as it should be
-the prndl indicator in the dash goes bright/dark randomly and is slow to respond to shifter movement
-ABS and brake lights come on randomly
-airbag light on all the time
-Theft light on intermittently, sometimes disables start
-sometimes gauge operation bottoms out and then jumps back
-codes ABS serial communication lost with ICP
ICP VTD short this ign cycle
ICP VTD bad R-code this ign cycle
ICP serial communication lost with EBCM
ICP serial communication lost with PCM
ICP serial communication lost with SIR
I've already checked some of the common things I've heard of, like the grounds under the battery tray which were kinda nasty but are nice and clean now.  It still has the problem though.  The only thing I have been able to find is the ground 202 that grounds the instrument panel, has a voltage drop of 2.1 volts between the cluster terminal and battery ground.  The problem I have now is the wiring diagram labels the ground g202 as left I/P.  I have looked everywhere under the instrument panel but I can't find this ground anywhere.  Help!  Also it's been suggested that the instrument cluster and ignition switch could be at fault.  Is there any conclusive test to determine this?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Actually there are only two things I can think of, one, you do have a bad ground or short. Second, the panel and ign switch could be the problem. If you can find the ground(which sometimes things aren't where their supposed to be) I know it sucks but you may just have to trow a few parts at it. The shops have an advantage cause they can do it without costing anything if it isn't the problem, they just take them back out. You definitely have your work cut out for you, good luck!
