Chevrolet Repair: oil pressure, oil pressure gauge, oil pressure sending unit

1987 305 tbi p/u.oil pressure gauge would flucuates now i have no pressure. it has to be either the oil sending switch or the oil sending sensor but how do i know which one.the truck runs and drives good

Hi John, This is a bad oil pressure sending unit. I would go buy a new one and now you'll now what it looks like to replace it. It should be right next to the distributor on the drivers side. Some of these require a special socket to remove and install.
