Chevrolet Repair: 93 chevy siverado fuel problems, chevy siverado, fuel injection system

Question
I have a 93 chevy silverado extended cab 4x4 with a 350. It was running fine until I pulled up at a light and it shut off, I let it set for a few mniutes and then started it back up and it ran for a few minutes then cut off again and wouldn't start back up, so I towed it home and let it set for a week. Went out and started it up again and let it idle for 2 hours and it never quit but as soon as I started driving it, it died 2 miles down the road, towed it home again. So I changed the fuel filter and it ran fine for 1 day then it died. Since then I have cleaned out the fuel tank and replaced the filter again. The truck idles for 5 minutes then dies, I let it set for an hour and tried again and its the same thing. It idles for a few minutes then cuts off. The fuel pump works fine and fuel pressure is 55 to 60 lbs. Would you have any suggestions as to what might be the problem? Thank you, Bryant.

Answer
Hi Bryant, The first thing you need to do when it doesn't run is see whats missing, spark or fuel. You can do this by spraying carb cleaner into the intake and crank the engine to see if it runs for a second. If it does then you know the spark is good. If you have good spark and fuel pressure then the problem is in the fuel injection system. This could as simple as a bad ignition module or ecm.

Hope this helps
