Chevrolet Repair: STARTING AND ELECTRICCAL, chevrolet blazer, fuel pump relay

Question
WE REPLACED A FUEL PUMP RELAY AND THE VEHICLE STARTED. THEN CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR BECAUSE IT WAS BAD.  BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND HAD IT CHECKED BECAUSE IT IS DEAD.  THE BATTERY IS FINE JUST DEAD AT THE MOMENT.  I DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR CAME HOME TURNED IT OFF.  WENT TO START IT AGAIN AND THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD.  IT IS A 93 CHEVROLET BLAZER S-10 4WD.  OH WE HAD ALSO PREVIOUSLY ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO CHANGED THE STARTER AND HEATER BLOWER MOTOR.  SOMEONE SUGGESTED A FUSIBLE LINK MAYBE THE PROBLEM, BUT WE CAN'T LOCATE THEM.  WHERE WOULD THEY BE AND WHAT WOULD THEY LOOK LIKE?  IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD RUN THE BATTERY DOWN LIKE THAT?  ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED. THANKS

Answer
Hi Lisa, What you need to do is test the large RED wire going to the alternator. You need to load the wire with something like a headlight bulb. Connect the light just light you would a test lamp, one to the red wire and the other to ground. The light should be bright, this will test the circuit to make sure that the alternator can charge the battery. If it doesn't light up you can just run a new wire from the battery to the back of the alternator.

Let me know what you find
