Chevrolet Repair: engine swap need help, suzuki sidekick, friend holly

hey CJS its me again holly well i have that geo tracker and a suzuki sidekick well there both the same thing lol but im wanting to change the engines. i want to put that 8 vavle tracker engine in to the sidekick and i was wanting to know what i can do to help things out and what ill run in to special tools and some more long winded answers lol plz help and thank you for helping

Hi Holly,

I am in a hurry today so I will keep this short.  You need to make sure your transmissions line up.  Then you want to get the computer and wire harness.  Take everything you can get off the donor car.  

Pull the radiator so you don't put a hole in it.  Try not to disconnect the A/C if you have that.  Just bend that out of the way.  

On the new motor, put a new oil pump, change all the gaskets, except the head gasket.  Look at the freeze plugs for condition.  Change the rear main seal.  Depending on how many miles and condition, you may want to put new bearings in it.  Use the same size that are there now.  

This should take you a weekend.
