Chevrolet Repair: 97 blazer, tcc solenoid, whir

97,000 or so miles, dying when you take off, seems to work better if you let it run for awhile, also "bogs" when you pull out into traffic.  was told a major tune up was required.  i worry about the fuel componets.  is there a test to check fuel pump etc.

if the fuel pump in tank or near it, have freind/buddy turn key on but not starting.  u should hear a whir and noise of pump kicking on.  would be nice for more detailed issues, but i would check out the tcc solenoid. cehck each system, and then go from there.
