Chevrolet Repair: Fuel pressure Test, throttle position sensor, riding dirt bikes

Question
QUESTION: 95 Cavalier 2.2. How do I test the fuel pressure on this vehicle. There are no fittings on the fuel rail as with my Buick. The first start of the day takes a while to catch; once you get it running once, it starts better (read tolerable) for the rest of the day. First start you have to hold the starter engaged when it first fires until the engine fully catches, the only other alternative is the crank sensor to me but given a flat spot (big hole) in a rapid acceleration, I thought it was fuel related. As long as you accelerate slowly the car is fine, punch it and it chokes out until you let off the gas. I have already changed the Throttle Position sensor.
ANSWER: Hi Alex, To test the pressure you to put fittings on the fuel line to connect a gauge to, so if you don't have this stuff your all done. I would try replacing the fuel filter first before thinking pump.

QUESTION: I have the ability to install a fitting, what is the recommended procedure; in the line prior to the regultaor or I was looking at modifying the rail to include a tap for the pressure tester. I am trying to determine if the regulator is good or not, at $125 a crack, I don't want to guess at this one.

Answer
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, was out riding dirt bikes for the first time this year. You need to be before the regulator to get a correct reading. I have never seen a regulator go bad on one of these, only the pump and a lot of them.
