Chevrolet Repair: Starting truch after a tune up, lojak, firing order

Question
Mr. lojak
This weekend I put new spark plugs,Wires,Cap and rotor on My 1994 z71 305 ci 5.0l V8 After i did that my truck wouldnt start, it would crank but nothing more, it back fired a few times, so What I always was taught is the firing order is messed ip so I rearranged the firing order several times  put a new coil in, tested the RTI modual, and nothing the problem presists, Ive have went to friends and family and they have told me what they would think which is firing order.. Do you think it might be something else i can check???

Answer
ok, its trying to backfire instead of fire. two things. get a picture of the firing order on the distributor. you can go to the dealer, and they will print you a pictire, looks like a circle the represents the distributor with numbers on it telling you which cylinder to go to with each wire, also, make sure you have identified the number 1 cylinder correctly, and didnt start on number 2. ok, next, check the gap on your plugs. if nothing there, make sure the cap and rotor are correct, and put on correctly, also, make sure they arent cracked. good luck.
