Chevrolet Repair: shakes really bad and shuts off when I come to complete stops, torque converter clutch, 1997 chevy cavalier

Question
I have a 1997 Chevy cavalier 2.2 liter. I have fixed the fuel injectors, the spark plugs and wires. It is still shaking really bad..mostly at a complete stop and it shuts off. it acts as if I'm driving a manual, but it's an automatic. What could it be???

Answer
Hi Marie, This the torque converter clutch not disengaging and can be repaired be just disconnecting the electrical plug on the transmission. This will not harm a thing and won't cost you a thing either. Locate the plug that goes into the front of the transmission, you can see this with the hood open and looking down at the trans. Find where the upper radiator hose goes into the radiator and look down about 10 to 12 inches, you should see the plug there. i think it is blue in color. disconnect it and just let it hang there.

Hope this helps
