Chevrolet Repair: 99 cavalier brakes, rear drums, abs light

Question
I have been helping my son with his brake issues. His problem seems to be with the rear drums. I just replaced the drums last week and that stopped the wobble. However when he steps down on the brakes they seems to make a grinding sound and vibration. They also feel like they are trying to lock right when the car stops. I also changed the shoes twice and all the hardware. The ABS light does not come on.

Answer
when you step on the brakes, does the rear end of the car dip down? sounds like the brakes are over adjusted. there is a tool you can buy at most parts places. it measures the shoes while they are mounted on the vehicle verus the inside diameter of the drum. give that a try. if you have any other questions, or can tell me a litte more about what is going on, please let me know. thanks. oh, and remember, proper adjustment is a slight drag when you spin the wheel.
