Chevrolet Repair: 98 Astro gauges & Speedometer Intermittent, turn signals, power wires

98 Astro 2WD 4.2 ltr 75,000 miles
Will start van in AM, gauges all work. Will drive 2 blocks or so, and gauges die including speedometer. Turn signals, radio, AC work ok, but no lights in radio, no overhead outside air temp gage, or cruise control. Stop at the store for a few minutes, get back in, start up everything is still dead. Sometimes will drive 2 blocks from store and everything starts working again! Drives me nuts! Impossible to troubleshoot. Got any clues where to look?

Hello Dan, This sounds to me like  your losing power some where. The first place I would check is by or behind the battery. They run a lead from the battery to a block that splits  the power wires into different circuits. Be sure the wires and connections are good.
