Chevrolet Repair: exhaust smoke, small drain, drain hole


Question
I have a 1994 k1500 4wd p/u with a 305 engine  when i start my truck in cold weather i know trucks smoke because they are cold but mine seems to smoke alot when its cold out it does go away after you drive it for about 20 minutes  and it runs great  its not blue smoke or black smoke  just white smoke you see when its cold out but it seems very thick  until it gets warmed up
is there anything i could do to lesten the smoke  any advice would be appriciatee

Hi Joseph,
Slide under it sometime, and see if there isn't a small drain hole in the muffler that is plugged up with something.
The truck produces carbon dioxide and water in the exhaust. If the drain hole is plugged, the water can't drain out, and will evaporate, and turn to steam until it is all gone.
