Chevrolet Repair: slow battery drain, chevrolet silverado, battery drain

Question
I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick up with extended cab. If I don't start it or move it for a couple of days, I find the battery to be dead (seemingly). I thought the battery as bad and replaced it, but the same thing happened again. I cannot find anything that is left on, but it acts like a slow battery drain. If I start it and move it each morning, I do not seem to notice it. Someone mentioned it might be the light inside the engine compartment on my hood. When i jumped the truck it came back on and then went out after the truck warmed up.

Is this the answer or can there be something else causing my battery to drain when i do not start it for a couple of days?

Answer
Hi Rick, There are computers and modules on these trucks and if they don't shut down and go to sleep they will cause this to happen. You need to have someone test the system to make sure there isn't a draw and if there is locate it.

Sorry I can't help more
