Chevrolet Repair: heater problem, chevy c1500, radiator cap

Question
i have a 1994 chevy c1500 5.0L 2dr step side California edition. i was having some over heating problems but i got those fixed. but now my heater in the cab wont work. I've replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap. and still nothing. I've tracked the lines for the heater core and the inlet pipe is warm. and if I'm correct that line should be pretty hot. its coming strait out of the block so that should be pretty hot. so i think that it is a clogged line. but i jut want to make sure. the heater core it self is cold. so  either there is a clog in the line or there is air filling up the heater core. with doesn't see feasible to me but another opinion would be great. thanks for any help you give.

Answer
Hi James,

I immagine your heater core is clogged.
Take the hoses loose wherever its easiest, and turn a garden hose on, and hold it tight against one hose going to the heater core, and then the other. it will probably start slowly, but eventually speed up, and then flush out.
Do it several times in each direction till clean.

If your heater hose comes off the intake manifold with one of those quick disconnect fittings, be real careful messing with it, or it will break off. But that is another place it could be plugged.
