Chevrolet Repair: 88 burb engine swap, burb, deisel

I have an 88 chevy subirban. I blew they engine recently and am thinking about try to swap the 5.7 liter for a 6.2 deisel out of another suburban that I have. Is this possible and can you give me any tips? ALso the truck with the 6.2 is a 2 wheel drive. Mine is a 4wd can I modify the 2wd trnny to handle the 4x4 transfer case

I believe they can all actually be done, but I have never undertaken that much.

Browse a little first, and then sign in and ask your questions there.
Make the topic sound interesting, like "Converting 4X2 to 4X4", and "Replacing 5.7 with 6.2 Diesel". That will get more viewers, and thus, more comments.
