Chevrolet Repair: wiper problem, chevy caprice, caprice wagon

91 chevy caprice wagon 305V8 intermitant wipers. Windshield replaced last week. Since windshield replaced i have trouble getting the wipers to park on shut off. when i turn the switch to off they will bounce at the bottom of the stroke as if they were going to park & were turned back on, up & down at the bottom of the windshield. If i shut off the car & push tne wiper arm toward park & then turn the ignition switch to on they will then park. What is going on & how do i fix it? Did the glass guy screw something up?

Hello Bill, this sounds like the wiper arms are not adjusted correctly, wanting to park way to far down and can't get there. This would cause the park switch in the wiper motor to not work and the wipers will stay on. You need to adjust the wiper arm travel to correct this. Sometimes the wiper arm itself has splines that you can just move up one tooth after removing the wiper arm from the post.
