Chevrolet Repair: chev lumina, drl module, alternator

Question
My cars headlights stopped comming on by themselves could it be a relay or the DRL module or corroded wires. Also the lights dim at an idle or under load if this helps. Thanks

Answer
Hi Frank,

I bet you have this fixed by now.  I am looking over the pool of unanswered questions, and came across this one.  I will answer this for you anyway.

I believe the daytime running lamps are controlled by a direct power link from the alternator.  A bad alternator will cause the lights to dim at idle.  A voltage regulator to be more specific.

I feel the two problems are related to the alternator.  Have your alternator checked (you can do this while on the car), and repair as needed.

Hope this helps.
