-----Question-----
my speedometer has been "sticking" at 90mph for the last month!  It will increase as I drive until it tacs out.   it won't reset when I start the car like all the other guages do.  when it does decellerate it seems to be very choppy and stuttering rather than going down in a smooth motion.  Is there a reset button I can push?  Does something need to be lubed?  Help please! It is not digital...has needle.  this is for a 2003 suburban if I failed to mention that before.

Replace the cable going from the back of the display to the transmission

Answer
Depends on whether or not you can get to it.
Part should order through parts store but may be dealer item.
You may have to take dash apart.
The cable connects to the back of the dash and connected to that cable is a rubber grommet that is mounted into the firewall. Just push this out of the firewall after disconnecting the cable from the back of the dash.
It connects to the side of the transmission and is usually held in place by either a 7/16" or 3/8" bolt with a retainer clip. Remove this bolt and clip and gently pull from the transmission. At the end of this is the speed gear which will have to be put on the new cable (maybe) not sure if they come with the gear attached.
