Chevrolet Repair: coolant is continously low but no signs of leaking, cylinder head gasket, intake manifold gasket

Question
I have a 2003 Chevy Venture.  Noticed a rough idle about 2 weeks ago.  2 days ago notice temp was rising above what it normally runs, but never actually overheated. added coolant and next day it was low again.  added more on 3rd day and service engine soon light came on.  Went to Autozone and they said there was a misfire in cylinder 6.  Then heard a ticking noise coming from the motor, but it went away.  Where could the coolant be going? and are the two problems related?

Answer
Hi Tiffany, The most coolant leak in this van is the intake manifold gasket. You might not see it leaking on the ground. The other thing is the cylinder head gasket which also won't leak to the ground. The ticking could be from coolant in the engine oil. The misfire might be the above problems but there is only one way to find out, fix the coolant leak.

Hope this helps
