Chevrolet Repair: turn signal flasher replacement, signal flashers, turn signal switch

Question
How do I access the turn signal flaser on a 1988 Chevy Cavalier?  I understand the emergency flasher is to the driver's side of the steering column and the turn signal flasher is on the passenger side of the steering column. What do I have to remove to access it. This may save me buying a $35 turn signal switch.  Thanks

Turn signal flashers are the hardest things to find at times. All cars have them in different places. All I can tell you is to look from under the dash at the frame work for the steering column and near the dash assembly for that little round flasher unit. I have at times been able to get the flasher to work by hitting the dash with the key on and the turn signal on. Now you can locate it by the sound.  Hope this helps
