AnswerI bet it has a carburetor, not fuel injection, so I would say the accelerator pump in the carb is worn out.
A new one comes in a jiffy kit.
To test it, have the engine off, remove the air filter so you can see down inside the throats, and move the throttle linkage to wide open.
During that movement, a good healthy spray of gasoline should spray into each throat.
If the engine is early morning cold, you may need to hold the choke plate open so you can see, cause it will happen below the choke plates, but above the throttle plates.
