Chevrolet Repair: 97 Suburban Front/Rear Blowers, resistor pack, bob gray

Question
Replaced front blower control switch several months ago,
worked properly.  Both Front & Rear Blowers OK.
Noticed Front Blower recently died, worked intermittently
for one day before failure.  Upon further investigation,
noticed that rear blower (separate control) also had stopped
working.  Checked fuses under hood (50A) and on dash, just
inside drivers side door; fuses seem OK.  Don't understand
how BOTH blowers could fail at the same time.  Possible?
Something else?  Please help if you can.

Best,

Bob Gray

Answer
Hi Bob,
Unplug the power wire from the blower motor, and using a jumper from the battery pos post, connect it directly to the blower motor connection. It should run at hi speed.
If it does, go back to the resistor pack, switch, or a fusible link.

If it doesn't run at hi speed, first check the ground wire for the motor....make sure it is grounded.
Then, if it still runs erratically, the motor is where to look.
