Chevrolet Repair: tuning valves 87 2.8 liter z24, adjustment nut, valve adjustment

Question
I am having problems tuning my valves could you give some advise

Answer
Tuning your valves ? I am assuming you mean setting your valves, the easiest way to do this if you dont mind a bit of a mess, is to run the motor with the valve covers off, do 1 valve at a time, back off the adjustment nut until that valve starts to make noise ( clattering ) when it does STOP, turn in the adjustment until the noise goes away at that point turn another 1/4 turn and your done with that valve adjustment, repeat the exact same procedure on each valve until all are done, you will get some oil on the motor, but this can be washed off. they make rocker shields to deflect the oil but its not a big deal, hope this helps, again this is the easiest way, other ways would be hard to explain here and are no more effective
