Chevrolet Repair: Suspension Clunk, steering gearbox, torsion bar

Question
I have a 96 Cheve Blazer 4x4, 4.3. Automatic. When I back out of my driveway I get a loud clunk that seems to come from under my feet. I looked at everything and took in to Automax who gave it a good check. Neither of us can find anything loose, worn or out of spec.

Answer
Hi John,
Driveshaft slipyoke can do that.
If it has torsion bar front springs, they can shift and klunk.

Motormounts are another possibility, as well as the suspension bushings.
The steering gearbox, where it bolts to the frame....make sure it is tight.
