Chevrolet Repair: air cond connections, chev silverado, bells and whistles

Question
Briefly my air conditioner quit working in my truck. Worked well and then
one day it wouldn't cool, compressor wouldn't turn. I have checked what
relays and fuses I can, believe it to be slightly undercharge from a minor
leak maybe. I bought a repair kit of 2 cans of refrigerant and a charging
hose, (snap on kind).

HERE IS THE PROBLEM:

There are two connectors on the high pressure (small diameter) line about 6
inches apart, and NO charging connectors on the low pressure line at all. I
have followed the suction line from the compressor all the way back to the
point where it enters the fire wall and NO LUCK!

Is there a special way to charge this thing?  What have I missed?  The folks
at the auto store have no idea either, I am lost  PLEASE  HELP!

Answer
Hi Ed,
You followed the suction line all the way to the firewall. Now follow the other line from the firewall....not the other line from the compressor. But there should be an accumulator, and a orrifice tube connection in that other line, and the charging port should also be near the accumulator.\
I don't know what the second connector in the hi line is. Possible you have a mistake there from the factory. I am curious about it.
Are the two connectors the same size?
The 134A low side charging connector is larger than the hi side connector, and the charging fitting will not connect to it.

That may be one that you should invest in the A/C shop on.
