Chevrolet Repair: reduced engine power, alternator, thr

Question
the reduced engine power light is coming on leaving me with everything running ok except i cannot excellerate. the powersteering,lights,radio ect.. all work. i took it to a mechanic and he couldnt get a code from the computer because thr light wasnt on at the time.he mentioned that it might be something having to do with the alternator. any thoughts?

Hi Carrie, you didn't say which type of car you have. Oh well, you need to take it to a dealer for repair. The history code will still be there and they can repair it. If it's a truck I'll bet on the gas pedal assembly, I have replaced these a couple of times.
