Chevrolet Repair: S10 Blazer Starting Problem, s10 blazer, fuel pump relay

Question
I have 1988 S10 Blazer w/ 2.8L v6 automatic 4x4. When my son went to jump start the truck he crossed the positive and negative cables burning the single wire going to the alternator completely through. I repaired the wire, looked over all visible wiring for burn thru or shorts and don't see any. When I first tried to start the truck after the initial repair of the wire, the ECM fuse would blow as soon as I turned the key on. I pulled the ECM out and did a visual inspection of the inside of the box, nothing appeared to be burnt. No burnt electrical smell. I did replace the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump as they were not working.  I know there is fuel pressure reaching the TBI but no fuel exits the injectors. If I pour a little gas into the TBI the truck will start. Is there something else I need to check or replace? Is there a way to check the ECM?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Barry, If the ECM fuse was blowing then I would have to say the ECM is no good. This is the part that controls the injectors, if bad you will have nothing coming from the injector. I can't say if there is any else to replace you will just have to play it by ear one part at a time. I think the ECM just might be the fix though.

Have a Nice Day
