Chevrolet Repair: 1995 chevy astro suddenly died. Will run on startin, chevy astro, sequential fuel injection

Question
Hey Van,  my 1995 chevy astro was idleing normally and suddenly died, like the ignition switch was turned off.  It will fire up with starter fluid, but will not run on its own.  i am getting fuel up to the engine, but have not tested the fuel pressure.  I replaced the fuel filter and the ICM.  The fuel pump was replaced about a year ago.  Any suggestions?  Thanks. It is a 4.3, but I do not know how to identify the engine type.

Answer
Hello Doug,
Check the fuses, speciffically looking for an Inj fuse. You could get a noid light, and see if there are injector pulses.
If there are pulses, then fuel pressure would certainly need to be checked.
I think the pressure on that should be in the 45 PSI range, but don't hold me to that. That spec is decided by the type of fuel injection system it has, so find that before checking it.

Somewhere it will say TBI, or Central port, or Sequential fuel injection. You will need to know which.
