Chevrolet Repair: Camaro High Tickover, rochester carby, new rochester

Question
1986 Camaro Has Brand new Rochester Carby and revs at 1500rpm at tick over even after a a run of 10 miles sometimes it starts just fine and revs perfectly. Have a buzzing noice coming from a small green sender unit under dash this too is new.It cost me a lot of money to get that new carby from the U.S. It has no adjustments as it is all sealed up.Have set timing spot on and the rev adjusting screw is right back so now their is a space and it ticks over at 500rpm when it wants to. The car has only 45000 miles up and had it 15 years. I run it on 98 octain fuel.I feel it could be the Auto choke could I disconect it as it is a hot climate here or would this trow it out of wack. Thanks Ray.

Answer
Hi Ray,
The choke fast idle step is what it sounds like, and you could probably just adjust it.
First of all, is there a vacuum choke pulloff on it, and is it connected?
And, doesn't the choke plate open all the way when it warms up?

I have no idea what the green buzzy thingy is.
