Chevrolet Repair: Anti-Theft, chevy dealer, malibu

Question
The anti-theft device on my 2001 Malibu keeps coming on and I can't start my car. I've taken it to my local Chevy dealer service 3 times.  They can't stop it from happening.  Their only solution is to leave the key in the ignition in the on position for 15 - 20 minutes and the anti-theft will turn off and the car will then start.  I'd appreciate any help!  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Kathy, The most common thing to cause this is the ignition lock. I have replaced many of these to repair this type of problem. If does leave a code in the system so if they checked they should have seen it (B2960).

Have them look into it again or just replace the ignition lock assembly

Let me know how you make out
