Chevrolet Repair: 2001 Astro SES, wd40, hi chris

Question
I have a question for you and I hope you can help. I have recently been getting the SES light. It will be on for a couple days and gone for a day or so and come right back. It started right after we had a heavy rain. I got stuck in a mini flood and the car stalled out on me for about 30 mins. Since then it does not shift like it used to and feels like I lost some power. It is very difficult to get someone here to do a diagnostics check because I am in Japan and my japanese is not so good. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Chris,
In case you haven't yet done so, remove the air filter and make sure it isn't wet. Better yet, just replace it.
See if any of the wire harness connectors have water in them. Feel free to liberally hose them off with as much WD40 as you like. WD40 was actually designed to displace water....Water Displacer formula 40 is what it means.
Do the connector on the transmission also.
