Chevrolet Repair: Timing Mark/Tab, crankshaft sensor, radiator support

Question
1995 Chevrolet P/U
4.3lt V6
I can't seem to find the timing tab. I see the mark on the damper, but no tab to set timing by.

Answer
We do not service trucks and if memory serves on the 4.3L , I do not believe that the timing is adjustable by turning the distributor. The mark on the flywheel is NOT for timing purposes.

There should be a white sticker pasted on the radiator support or under the underside of the hood which says EMISSIONS label. Read it. I don't think they give any specs to indicate timing adjustments.

Ignition timing is controlled via the crankshaft sensor and or camshaft sensors and is NOT manually adjustable. the vehicles computer system controls the spark timing based upon these sensor inputs.

Just to be sure, ask your local Chevy dealer.
