Chevrolet Repair: 97 Astrovan fuel pump noise, astrovan, pressure and volume

Hi,I own a 97 Astro and supposedly the dealer replaced the fuel pump 2 weeks ago. We bought the van 1 month ago on 6/14. The pump is making a screeching sound which is most annoying.When we got the van you could barely hear the pump running.Also, now the engine keeps stalling out and loses power going uphill.Down to 20-25 mph untill we hit level ground then runs fairly good. We just had new wires,cap and rotor installed on Sat.7/16. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Butch

The first thing you need to do is have someone test the fuel pump PRESSURE and VOLUME as well as check the fuel filter.. If nothing is found there, the next step would be to have it checked for an EXHAUST RESTRICTION such as a catalytic converter in the exhaust that has melted internally.
