Chevrolet Repair: Engine Stall-93 Yukon, intermittent faults, engine stall

Question
We were returning from camping in a 93 Yukon Sport with 135k miles, 4wd, 350 engine towing a small trailer (2 wheel enclosed 4'x8' box) with camping gear. We had been on the road for 4 hours mostly at 70 mph, when the engine just quite. No gauge warning that I was aware of, no unusual noise from engine, no mis firing. one little hiccup/clunk and then dead. Ambient temp was 85 deg and were running the air con. After the engine died-CHECK GAGES indicator was on. Water temp was OK with coolant in the reservoir. Checked battery voltage and was at 12.5 V (engine off of course). Engine turned over easily. first suspected timing chain. Towed home and car sat in garage over night and started the next morning with no problems. Ran like a charm. No repairs in the last 2 years. Any thoughts?

Answer
Intermittent faults are very hard to diagnose. My first suspect would be the fuel pump are they are well known for failing after getting hot and then resume working after cooling off.

However, Numerous other tests need to be performed using a scanner.
