Chevrolet Repair: Chevrolet Electrical, amp fuse, buzzer system

Question
I'm working on a 89 , 2500 , Suburban. The trouble is , the 20 amp fuse that powers the guages blows ,
now it is imediate when the key is turned on . it started out just blowing when driveing over rough
road. and another crazy symptom is the buzzer that tells you that your lights are on when the ignition is off comes on when the lights are on .( sometimes)
where would you suggest looking , as I have not been able to locate any broke wires or fuse links I am thinking light or ignition switch as the possible
cause.

Answer
Actually, the wires that go to the senders, even if shorted to ground, wouldn't blow a fuse, since grounding them is what the sender does.
Look in the owners manual, in the fuse section, and see what all is powered by the same fuse.
Chances are it will be a wire going to the instrument cluster, or one of the gauges, but if that buzzer system is on the same fuse, that is where I would concentrate.
Yes, up by the light switch, or possibly the switch.
Just unplug the switch, and see if the fuse blows then.
