Chevrolet Repair: engine running rough, fuel pressure regulator, distributer cap

Question
I have been working on a 93 S10 blazer with a 4.3L vortec v-6. It hasn't run in six years because when it was last parked it was getting gas in the oil. Now I am trying to get it running. I have removed the old gas, changed the fuel filter, changed the roter bug and distributer cap, put new spark plugs and wires on, and changed the injectors. The engine is now running rough and it smokes when I first start it up. It is white smoke. It acts like it is getting too much fuel and has to clear itself out when I am driving it. When It sets running it is very rough and sputters when you first take off. There is also a very strong gas smell when is sits running and when you shut it off. Also, when you are driving it and you come to the cruising speed it starts running rough again. I've gotten a lot of help from my friends but this one is escaping us. Thanks, Shawn Butler

Answer
Hi Shaw,
There is a fuel pressure regulator operated by vacuum, and it may have a keaking diaphragm, which would allow raw gas to be sucked into the vacuum line. Find it, and see if it has gas in that hose.
I believe it is mounted right on the throttle body.

There are a couple Orings, and a gasket in the throttle body that could leak gas into the manifold also.
