Chevrolet Repair: Cigarette lighter wiring, blown fuses, inline fuse

99 Chevy 1500. Cigarette lighter quit working. Checked fuse box by drivers door, no blown fuses. Replaced entire lighter assembly (what a chore that was), still not working. Is there an inline fuse or another fuse box I'm missing?

NO, There are NO in-line fuses. You should have checked for battery voltage at the wire BEFORE you reassembled the dash assembly. There is a good chance that the plug in connector at the main harneess in the dash may be melted thus no battery voltage to the lighter.

recheck ALL your fuses in the fuse panel and there may be a panel under the hood with fuses in it.

Are you SURE the ground wire is OK ?.
