Chevrolet Repair: Brake Fluid light on 2002 Chev Venture, brake master cylinder, gm service

Question
My 02 Venture (about 39,000 miles) has had the Brake Fluid light come on several times recently.  It started about 2 weeks ago, and it would come on maybe once or twice a day and then go out after a few mintues.  Took it in to Jiffy Lube (needed an oil change) and they said the brake fluid level was fine.  But the light still comes on.  And today it's coming on several times, but it still goes off after a few minutes.  There are no other symptoms with the brakes; no noises or weird pedal response or anything.  Should I take it in?  If so, would you recommend a GM Service place, or would a place like Midas be fine?

Answer
Personally I would NEVER take my vehicle to anyone that I did not know or trust. If you trust Midas, Go ahead.

Your problem is most likely the LOW FLUID SENSOR at the brake master cylinder.

Call your local dealers parts department and see if they have a new one.

OR e-mail me (meperganfortis@msn.com) some pictures of the master cylinder  and I will try and identify and tell you how to test yours.
