Chevrolet Repair: Rear end Bearings, wheel bearings, spider gears

Question
My 1993 Chevy Cheyenne pickup has had a noisy rear end for a while. How do I replace the wheel bearings and are there any bearings near the differential to replace?

Answer
You have a bearing at each wheel and a bearing at each side of the differential. You also have spider gears inside the differentail that can be worn as well as a pinion bearing also in the differential.

You need special tools to replace the bearings.
