Chevrolet Repair: 1991 corsica, wiring connections, smooths

Question
My corsica starts ok but when you step on the gas there is no power. It spits and sputters. I tried a new fuel filter but did not help at all. I messed with a bunch of wires behind the engine especially a flat black box with five or six wires going to it. When you move it around the engine sputters or smooths out. What the heck? Sometimes it runs fine but other times thirty mile an hour is tops.

Answer
Without actually SEEING this black box, I can only GUESS that it is probably the ignition module and EITHER the wiring connections that you are moving are loose and or the box needs to be replaced.

You should have an experienced technician take a look BEFORE you go replacing ANYTHING.
