Chevrolet Repair: 2001 Chevy malibu, chev malibu, chevy malibu

Our daughter drives a 2001 chev malibu. How do we check transmission fluid....cannot find a dipstick? Also... there is a LOUD humming/grinding sound coming from the right front but only when the car is in gear. She recently had new brakes installed (when it was inspected? We have looked and cannot find anything. Thanks for your help!

Hello K, There isn't a dip stick to remove on this trans. You need to remove a plug at the right axle to check the fluid. If there isn't a leak it's OK, no need to check it. The noise is most likely a bad right wheel bearing, I have done a few of these.
