I have a '97 Chevy S10...new battery....unless I drive the truck daily the battery will be dead.  There is a short in the wiper motor which I believed was draining the battery, so my husband removed the fuses to the wiper motor to de-activate it.  This hasnt solved the dead battery problem.  Where do I begin to look for the solution and what is causing this problem?

Hello Marsha,
Be sure to check the map lights on the mirror if you have them. They are hard to see they are on during the day.

Hi Van,
Thank you for your prompt reply but that isn't the answer; we disconnected those lights awhile back.  Any other suggestions?

Answer
Hi Marsha,
That thought was just a followup to my orriginal answer.
Do the steps suggested in the link I sent.

Also, park it in a real dark place and look for light from someplace. I found one of my trucks had a light in the key hole for the ignition switch. That ring was staying illuminated all the time, draining the batt.
But you need to look before touching a door handle, since that can turn that light on.
