Question'97 Chevy Z71,Vortec 5.7 litre- #4 cylinder dead miss, Chevrolet Dealership DYNO doesnt know why. I am getting fire to cylinder, but do not know if I am getting fuel. Mechanic at dealership says the Fuel pressure regulator and will replace for $800. but could not guaruntee it would fix the problem, also noticed the Fuel gauge is sort of surging back and forth while engine is running if that makes any since. Engine idles rough, but at high Speed it seems to run ok. any suggestions please?

Not much info there, but that price seems rediculously high for a pressure regulator, even installed.
I don't think that is it anyway. Did he check the pressure?
I would check the pressure first, and if it is ok, I would swap some injectors to see if the problem stayed in the same cylinder, or moved with the injector.
You could have a burned valve, a sticking valve, something cought under a valve, or a broken valve spring. A compression test is in order.
I would probably stay away from that dealer mechanic though.
