Chevrolet Repair: S10 Blazer 4X4 4.3 Vortec 1994, s10 blazer, 4lo

My 4X4 has the automatic switch on the dash. When trying to engage 4Hi the lights flash several times and then do nothing and the 4Hi does not engage. The 4Lo will not engage either. I was wondering what would cause the 4X4 not to work, and if there is anything else that I could do to try and help you determine what it may be. I stopped once and back up and then sat still and did what my book said and put it in N and pushed the button and while it was flashing put it into D and it sounded like it engaged but the light did not stay on. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Hi John, There are a couple of things that could be the problem. I'm sure the system has a code in it now and that is why it won't do anything. Disconnect the battery for a minute and see if it works after you reconnect it. If not then it could be the module or the encoder motor. Best to take it somewhere for repair on this.
