Chevrolet Repair: 95 surburban 2500 brakes, brake job, master cyl

Question
i have done two brake jobs in the last 8000 miles both ended up being heated calipers nad rotors. i went to the shop today for the 3rd brake job it went 3700 and they informed me that they could not figure it out. it pulls to the left and has a warped rotor they say it is from heat. i notice that there was no wear on the back drums. could i be using my fronts to stop only, is there a valve of some sort , it has anti-lock brakes.

thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Jeff,
Yes, there is a proportioning valve.
Most of the stoping is actually done by the front brakes anyway, but your rears may not be doing their share.

I have seen the flexable hoses to the front wheels deteriorate internally, and act like a check valve, not allowing the fluid to release.

It is also possible that the brake pedal is adjusted too close, not allowing the fluid to return to the master cyl.

The master cylinder could also be bad, not applying the rears. But I would expect a brake light to stay on if that were the case, although maybe not.
